Similar in scope to our Agency Performance Development Program, the Integrated Marketing and Communications Development Program (IMC) is designed for agencies that need everything and prefer to jump start the program by conducting all three phases of the integration simultaneously. This hybrid agency development model is most often selected by smaller agencies that have a simplified infrastructure and are in need of outsourced marketing, communications, and sales management assistance. During the IMC program, we not only assess, design, and train the cross-functional model; we actually supply the outsourced implementation and monitoring services necessary to manage the program.
We all recognized that we continue to be an industry in transition. In fact, change is occurring so rapidly and at so many levels within our industry that we are struggling just to keep up with the press releases and daily announcements. Most of us understand that the current business cycle is both natural and healthy, that in the long run we will once again stabilize and settle in to a more predictable business environment. When the stabilization will occur is anybody’s guess and, in the interim, we are all being challenged by the need to re-engineer and, in many cases, re-invent our marketing, sales, and service strategies so that we remain productive, efficient, profitable, and retain our existing accounts.
Recognizing the need to make these internal innovations is one thing, actuating them is something all together different and much more difficult due to the internal combustion that we often encounter when even the slightest change to a routine or an established business practice is attempted. In fact, the greatest single deterrent to organizational growth is finding the time to implement the change that facilitates the growth. We speak endlessly of new plateaus, new horizons, new business, and a new breed, yet most are struggling just to survive the familiar routine. We build magnificent plans, copy models, develop logos, create teams, conduct countless meetings and . . . never move forward. We shake things up only to watch in frustration as those around us settle back in. Is it all worth it?
Absolutely yes.
But what good is any initiative if it cannot be sustained? Too many good ideas die on the drawing board or during the early stages of implementation simply because time, money, people, and interest run short. Frustrating? Not any more.
We recognize that everybody in a smaller agency is usually operating at full capacity and we have made the necessary adjustments in our model to accept and work within this reality. The alternative, to pretend that today’s agency principals, producers, and CSRs can somehow do all that they are doing and more, is pure folly.
A primary component and distinguishing feature of the IMC series-based marketing, sales, and service integrated program is the recurrent, on-site reinforcement of the disciplines and behaviors that drive success. To ensure an effective and lasting outcome, these comprehensive initiatives reach beyond the traditional training room environment and provide our participants with individual, on-the-job performance coaching. Each participant works with our team of experts to establish properly defined performance objectives, develop an action plan to achieve the objectives, and immediately begin the implementation of the new activities and behaviors. This combined emphasis on participant education and consistent execution of high-payoff activities is our hallmark and the key to our potency.
The IMC program provides you with all of the support that you need to finally move your agency to the next level and beyond. Our integrated approach is designed to work within your current agency model, remove task work rather than add to it, and allow you and your staff to focus on harvesting opportunity, providing proactive client services, and manage your business while we work together to promote it. Frankly, the IMC program is the perfect meeting point for capability and desire. Here’s how the IMC three phase program works:
