An additional theme to our program will be the identification of techniques for thriving in a dynamic environment and our prescription for overcoming any negative reactions that are attributed to the fast pace and rate of change. We will point out the difference between what is “happening” and what is “happening to you”. We will reinforce the concept of “selective response”, illustrating with examples and anecdotes how to shift the focus from “the problem” to controlling the reaction to the problem – learning to control what can be controlled (response) and letting go of what is beyond our ability to control or effect (problem).
Using our personality profile, we will identify each participant’s communication style along with his or her strengths and drawbacks. We will describe and coach a comfortable strategy that will enable them to identify another’s personality type, adjust their own as needed, and dramatically improve the effectiveness and efficiency of every conversation – friendly or not.
We will also build in a practical application for improving internal communication between the management team, the participant, and their peers. Once again, this has little to do with the environment and a lot more to do with the individual.
Finally, we will address the need for improved presentation skills by designing and conducting monthly or bi-monthly team presentations that focus on the implementation of each teams agency management plan, provide updates and results, review products, sales, retention, forecasts, activity levels, initiatives, and other items pertinent to the team.
Program Objectives:
Of primary importance is the creation of a program that is efficiently implemented, effectively managed, and performance focused rather than conceptual in nature. In short, we will need to break with classical training models that tend to be content rich, intellectually compelling, and ineffective. Instead, we will design a real-world, no-nonsense, activity-focused curriculum that will set the stage for the underwriting teams to facilitate ongoing agency coaching and development.
With this in mind, we will limit the scope of the program to specifically achieve the following:
- Identify personal barriers to growth and facilitate a behavioral transition to improve negotiation, presentation, and communication skills with external agents and internal team members.
- Analyze participant/client interaction styles and design an individualized strategy to better interpret expectations and communicate intentions.
- Create professional development plans to enhance attitude, self-motivation, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, problem resolution, decisiveness, empowerment, and self-discipline.
- Develop team objectives, plans of action, and consistent tracking systems focused on high payoff, business-building strategies.
- Create a comprehensive presentation for reporting on team performance benchmarks, standards, supporting activities and pertinent information.
